Hrafnista's story is inextricably linked to Icelandic fishermen. We remember with gratitude and respect that Icelandic fishermen built Hrafnista's first home and thereby laid the foundation for a powerful social project that has for decades contributed to the well-being and safety of senior citizens. The contribution of fishermen, their part in Hrafnista's history and the important work that Hrafnista still carries out today, will always be respected.
On Fishermen's Day, we honor the contribution of fishermen to Icelandic society sooner and later. We thank them for their work, perseverance and the strength that has built the nation and created opportunities for future generations.
