
Population forecasts have shown in black and white that a significant increase in the number of older people will take place in the near future, and calls for more energy to develop new nursing homes have been loud in recent years.
Last December The Seamen's Council sent an inquiry to the Planning and Development Council of Hafnarfjörður town about a change in the zoning of the Seamen's Day Council site at Hraunvang in Hafnarfjörður due to possible plans in the future to increase the number of spaces at Hrafnista Hraunvang and also to increase the number of rental apartments for the elderly on the site.
