Sunnefa Lindudóttir, a nurse and head of department at Hrafnista Skógarbær, was a guest on the Human show on Rás 1 recently. There she told about the Namaste approach that has been implemented at Hrafnista.
„At Hrafnistu, an approach called Namaste has been implemented. “ This approach is intended as a warm and quiet moment with the aim of improving the well-being of residents, reducing uneasiness and giving staff tools to approach residents with care and love. " The Namaste approach was originally conceived for people with advanced dementia but experience shows that Namaste moment is actually suitable for all nursing home residents because of how easy it is to tailor it to the personal needs of each individual“
