What is day rehabilitation?
Day rehabilitation is defined as a temporary rehabilitation resource for senior citizens with an emphasis on strengthening physical, mental and social skills, with the aim of maintaining and increasing the independent residence of individuals.
It is intended as an 8 -10 week resort, with 3 -5 visits per week.
What is included in the program?
The first days are used to get to know the participant and formulate an individualized program that relates to:
Physical training: Physiotherapists and occupational therapists offer individualized treatment or group training in the equipment room.
Occupational therapy and social work: Emphasis is placed on daily activity and social capacity, as well as education of various kinds.
Who is this service intended for?
Those who are 67 years of age and older and live at home can apply here.
Day rehabilitation is only available at Hrafnista Laugarás in Reykjavík.
