Nursing Department Manager - Hrafnista Hraunvangi

The largest nursing home in the country is looking to hire a nursing department head. The head of department is a leader in nursing and services to residents and the manager of human resources in the department. The head of department manages all day-to-day operations in a 45-resident nursing department. The department employs around 85 people. Hrafnista Hraunvangi has four nursing departments and the managers of the departments work closely together with the director.

The head of department is part of Hrafnista's management group

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Daily management and operation of the nursing department
• Organization of staff work in accordance with the needs of service recipients
• Responsibility for professional nursing and quality of service
• Planning and development of services in cooperation with the director
• Counseling, communication and education for residents and relatives
• Interdisciplinary teamwork within the home and across Hrafnista

Educational and competency requirements

• Icelandic nursing license
• Management experience an advantage
• Experience with the RAI measuring device is an advantage
• Initiative, positivity and professional ambition
• Excellent communication skills
